Challenge

Wear2Go sought to create a scalable solution for recycling garments in line with their commitment to sustainability and circular textiles. The challenge was to automate and streamline the disassembly of garments made with Wear2® Ecostitching Technology, a special thread that dissolves under electromagnetic energy, while ensuring transparency and traceability through digital tools.

Approach

Trackware developed and implemented the Master Ecostitching Control System (MECS) to connect various components of the recycling process. The system includes RFID-equipped garments, scan tables for identification, a microwave tunnel for thread disassembly, and a cloud-based database to track product details. MECS communicates between all components, calculating the necessary energy for each crate in the tunnel and guiding the disassembly process via detailed instructions displayed at the disassembly table. RFID tags on every garment provide full traceability, making the process transparent and efficient.

The RFID-powered Wear2Go system has streamlined the garment recycling process, reducing manual labor and increasing efficiency.
